Adult LTS Keelboat

The Adult LTS Keelboat course follows the Sail Canada Start Keelboat Sailing curriculum, which is the recommended starting point for those with little or no boating or sailing experience who want to experience sailing on a keelboat and begin to build basic sailing skills in a relaxed environment and at a comfortable pace. No Experience Required. This entry level course builds basic sailing skills with a focus on operation of the vessel as crew. Candidates completing this course will be able to competently contribute to the operation of a keelboat in moderate daytime conditions. Courses will be taught using the club's Tanzer 22 sailboat, over one weekend (Friday evening, and all day Saturday and Sunday), or six evenings over two or three weeks. Note: there are a maximum of four students in each session, and a minimum of two students must be enrolled to run a course.

Evening Session E3. Tentatively Mondays Tuesdays and Fridays 6-9pm.

Weekend Session W3. Friday 6-9pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm

Adult LTS Dinghy

The Adult LTS Dinghy course follows the Sail Canada CANSail Dinghy Program, focusing on CANSail 1 & 2. CANSail 1 is beginner level - no experience required. Using our Topper Topaz 14' dinghies, our instructors take each student through the basics of sailing, including rigging a boat, points of sail, rules of the water and general sailing safety. CANSail 2 completes basic double-handed skills and knowledge, with more emphasis on skippering the boat and trimming the sails to maximize speed and control. The course will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5 pm - 9 pm, over three consecutive weeks, for a total of six classes. Note: there are a maximum of 10 students in each session, and a minimum of five students must be enrolled to run a course.

Evening Dinghy Session D1. Monday and Thursday evenings 5 - 9 pm.

Evening Dinghy Session D2. Monday and Thursday evenings 5 - 9 pm. Note that there will be a class on the Civic Holiday Monday, 5 August.
